Laptop Computer

A laptop computer has all the basic features of a desktop but is refined into a much smaller case that is easily portable. Typically a laptop has a screen that folds on top of the keyboard to reduce the size of the computer when it is being transported and easily unfolds for use. The size of the screen will decide the size of the laptop, as there are no folding or flexible screens on the market yet, though they are being developed.

Due to the smaller size of a laptop computer the component and hardware is custom designed to fit into a much smaller space. It also has to function with more environmental concerns such as overheating. It’s tough to cool a computer, and even tougher to fit a fan or cooling system into the already cramped space inside a laptop. This often results in slower speed and higher cost, but the goal is portability.

A laptop computer is also limited to the size of its battery. There is no point in having a laptop that stays at home plugged in, just get a much more powerful and cheaper desktop. These things are designed to travel and the longer the battery lasts the more productive and entertained people can be. Look for more and more touch screens to be entering the market very soon.
